Common name: Starfish plant, Earth star, Red star bromeliads

This plant is tolerance to drought. Grow best in well-draining soil, amended with a lot of organic matter with slight of sand. Prefere a shady spot and too much sunlight can make the leaves wither and shrivel. Expose the plant with sunlight in morning and late afternoon. Too long under shady spot will lead to diminish color of the plant's leaves.

Propagation through 'pups' that form on the bottom or top of the plants. Simply pulled out the pups and plant them.
