Family Name: Combretaceae
Common Name: Variegated Madagascar Almond
Synonym: Bucida Var.
Description:
The tree is a hybrid of Terminalia Mantaly. The whorl of lateral branches grows in obvious horizontal tiers, looking like a beautiful crown. It gives the tree a symmetrical silhouette and which is often mistaken as the result of artificial pruning. Its distinctive features make it a popular tree for garden landscaping and roadside greening. It has light green leaves bearing milky white or milky yellow marks and pinkish budding leaves. The shades of light colour on the leaves give the impression that they are covered with snow.
